Hebrew Classes

Hebrew learning is a core part of our students’ Jewish journey at Greenwich Reform Synagogue. All students in grades 3–7 participate in Hebrew classes or tutoring, which enables them to engage meaningfully with Tefillah (prayers) and Jewish traditions.

Program Details:

  • Class Schedule – Midweek Hebrew classes take place on Wednesdays in two separate sessions: 4:30-5:30 pm or 5:15-6:15 pm. (Cantor Michelle Rubin schedules students into sessions based on teacher availability while also making every attempt to place siblings in the same session.)
  • Flexible Options – In-person and online private or semi-private tutoring is available to meet individual learning needs.
  • Curriculum – Hebrew instruction is designed to build reading and Tefillah (prayer) fluency and the confidence to participate in Jewish prayers and rituals here at GRS and in any synagogue around the world.
  • Supportive Approach – If your child has a scheduling conflict or difficulty attending on Wednesdays, please contact Cantor Michelle Rubin, Director of Education, for alternative arrangements.
