Shabbat sets the rhythm to our week. It is an invitation to slow down, pause, and reflect.
At GRS, we make this transition together through prayer, song, poetry, Torah study, and moments of silence. Rabbi Jordie Gerson and Cantor Michelle Rubin lead our community with music and words as we shift from “doing” to “being.”
Our Shabbat observance begins with an oneg at 6:00 pm, followed by services at 6:30 pm.
Once a month, usually on the first Friday, we hold a special family service designed to engage children while remaining meaningful for all ages. This evening includes a congregational dinner, offering families and individuals the chance to celebrate Shabbat together in community. In addition, our beloved Tot Shabbat services—filled with music, stories, and song—are perfect for our youngest members and their families.
At Greenwich Reform Synagogue, all are welcome. No prior Jewish knowledge or Hebrew is required—just an open heart and a desire to share in the joy, rest, and renewal that Shabbat brings.
